Obituary of Lucille M. Buffington

Lucille M. Buffington (nee DiPaolo), age 90 of Collingswood, formerly of Pennsauken, passed away on August 12, 2025 at Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees.  She was born in Camden on December 3, 1934 to the late Salvatore and Julia (nee Fanelle) DiPaolo.

Beloved wife of the late William R.; Devoted mother of Lynn O’Donnell (Dennis), Sandra Laino (Mark), Julann Palo (Lee); Loving grandmother of Brianna, Gwen, Julia, Adam, Leah, Hannah and Joseph and great grandmother of Maison, Bella, Raelin, Finley, Parker and Emma; Dear sister of the late Louis DiPaolo; Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Buffington worked as the secretary at St. Stephen’s School in Pennsauken for over 40 years.  She was also the organist at St. Stephen’s Church for over 50 years.

In her free time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing the piano, cooking and baking.  She would start baking Christmas cookies right after Thanksgiving and had dozens of cookies for the holiday.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Wednesday, August 27 from 10 to 11 AM at the Church of St. Stephen, 6300 Browning Road, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson.
