Obituary of Maria H. Melendez

Maria H. Melendez, age 85 of Camden, passed away on September 20, 2025 at Cooper Hospital in Camden.  She was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico on August 15, 1940 to the late Isidro Melendez and Alejandrina Rodriguez.

Beloved mother of Mariam Sanchez (Juan), Carlos Ortiz (Leslie), Javier Ortiz (Dawn) and the late Angel Ortiz; Cherished grandmother of Juan Sanchez, Javier Sanchez, Carlos Ortiz, Marivette Pacheco, Siani Ortiz, Jason Ortiz, Jessica Crepes, Jessica Peebles, Emily Murray, Joseline Thompson, Angel Ortiz, Joshua Ortiz and Gianna Wright-Bey; Loving great grandmother of 25.

Maria enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and sitting with family and friends telling her life stories.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Thursday, September 25 from 6 to 8 PM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Camden Funeral Home, 3425 River Avenue, where a Funeral Service will be held at 8:00 PM.  Final committal will take place privately.
