Obituary of Ada M. Johnson-Watts

Ada Mae Johnson-Watts of Lawnside, NJ was born on February 26, 1947 to the late James Spencer Johnson & Mary Taylor-Johnson of Camden, NJ. She was surrounded by her loving family when she departed this life on Wednesday October 1st, 2025 at home.  

Ada was educated in the Lawnside, Haddon Heights & Camden City School Districts. Ada was a great Baseball player and loved to watch the games on tv. She was also a great dancer and won a Dance contest in her teenage years. Later in life Ada took interest in the Manufacturing and Pharmaceutical industries. She worked for several companies such as Stylecraft Coat Factory, Payco, Sperry Univac & Marsam Pharmaceuticals. Ada was a long time dedicated member of First Church Of Our Lord Jesus Christ under the stewardship of Apostle Pastor Gino Jennings in Philadelphia, PA. She was lovingly known as Mother Watts & loved her Church Family dearly. 

Ada gave birth to her first Son Lawrence Johnson in 1961, she later met & married the late Winfield Watts, Jr. & of this union were 2 Daughters Adrienne & Valerie. 5 of her siblings Odessa, Elizabeth, James, William and Ronald all preceded her in death. Ada was a devoted Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Cousin and Friend to all who were blessed to be a part of her life.

She leaves to cherish her memory 3 children Lawrence Johnson (Miriam) Adrienne Moore (Byron) and Valerie Davis (Kevin). 2 stepdaughters Kim Branch and Lynn Wesley and 1 stepson Eric Walters who preceded her in death. 4 siblings Lewis Johnson, Frederick Johnson (Martha), MaryAnne Johnson-Harris (Richard) & Robert Johnson. 18 Grandchildren TaChita, Devon, Christopher, Harry, Ryan, Tyrese, Tymeisha, Valerie, Kim, Lamar, Steven, Kareem, Ebony, Eric, Crystal, Chantal, Tenesha, Troy and 1 Grandson Marques who preceded her in death. Great Grandchildren Marques, Jr., Trinity, Jahsir, Jeramiah, Clarity Rose, Zion, Isaiah, Josiah & Ciani. 1 special Cousin Addie Gibson, 1 special Cousin/Son Trent Gibson, 1 special friend Patricia Allen & a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins & Friends.
