My mind goes back to year 1977 when we were meeting in a house fellowship in Glassdoor, NJ. with Harshaw family and others. We used to go every Sunday from Philadelphia and enjoyed fellowship. Time came when we had to move to Pittsburgh. Mike graciously took me in his car , found an apartment for us in Pittsburgh facilitated for us to move. He had a heart that goes out to help others. “ He took rest of his labour for his deeds follow him” to heaven . Rev 14:13. Condolences to family and friends. From Puli Jacob

It would be hard to understate the influence of Mr. Harshaw on my life. His unique style of teaching and dry sense of humor ignited a passion for the sciences that would see me through multiple graduate degrees and a career in biological research. I owe a lot to him, and am saddened to learn of his passing. My condolences.

I am a parent of a child who was in his granddaughter’s new drama company performance, A Christmas Carol, at Haddon Heights Baptist last November. He was patient and kind. you could get to know him quickly. this is a devastating loss. I pray for the family and friends he leaves behind.

Both of my children had Mr. Harshaw at West Deptford High School. I credit him with fostering my son's love for science. He majored in Biology in college and went on to earn a PhD. in microbiology and immunology and now works with cancer patients at Jefferson Health.

What a wonderful teacher with a unique sense of humor. He knew how to find a way to engage every kind of student. From dissection of animals to hissing cockroaches to using strands of my hair to look at under a microscope. He will be remembered as one of the best in my eyes! My condolences to his family and friends! Prayers!
