Obituary of Patricia Ann Walker
Patricia Ann Walker (nee Pritchett) passed on April 24th with her daughter Dayna by her side.
Pat as she was affectionately known, was born on May 1, 1944 to the late John and Gladys Pritchett being the second oldest of their eight children.
Pat was a member of the Bethel AME Church in Pennsauken and accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized by the late Rev. Randall.
Years later, she renewed her commitment and membership at Bethel Hosanna AME Church where she was a member of Women of Wisdom.
Pat was educated in the Pennsauken School district where she was an honor student and the first graduating class of Pennsauken High School.
Pat was accepted at Rider University but decided to continue her education by obtaining her licenses to work in the insurance industry.
She had a long and successful career with John Hancock Insurance until she retired and still continued her profession as a licensed agent.
In 1964 Pat married the late Franklin T. Walker Jr, and from this union their daughter Dayna was born. Dayna was her shared heart-beat who brought her happiness and endless joy. Wherever Pat was, Dayna was sure to be there.
In 1987 Pat’s grandson Terry was born and she was overwhelmed with love and joy and enjoyed every minute they spent together. She was thrilled to have a grandson and as she would say Terry was “My Boy.”
Pat loved sweets, pies, cakes, chocolate candy, ice cream...Pat was a sweet tooth gal.
You could tell Pat what’s for dinner but all Pat wanted to know is what’s for dessert.
Pat followed in her parents footsteps by serving God, making family a priority, working hard and treating people with kindness and respect. Pat was the ultimate peacemaker.
Pat was blessed with a caring heart and generous spirit and she used those gifts to touch the lives of others. She was a sponsor of Christian Charities, Save the Children, St. Jude, and Shriners Hospital.
Pat will be remembered as a beautiful person with a kind spirit and a giving heart, a caring sister, amazing Mother, proud Grandmother and simply the best of the best.
Pat leaves to cherish her everlasting memories her loving and devoted daughter Dayna, her grandson Terrence, brothers John (Ellen), Garrett (Barbara), Stephen, Sisters. Diane (Bo) Debbie,
Sister-in-law Gloria, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the Bethel Hosanna Family.
