Obituary of Matilde Fontanez

Matilde Fontanez, age 95 years of Camden, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on May 9, 2022.

Beloved wife of the late Joaquin Fontanez.  Devoted mother of Edwin Fontanez (Josefa), Johnny Fontanez (Aida), Jose Fontanez (Sandra), William Fontanez (Roseann), Frankie Fontanez (Liseidy), Lisa Fontanez and Joaquin Fontanez, Jr. (Brenda).  Loving grandmother of 23 and great grandmother of 36.  Dear sister of Esther, Julio and the late Juana, Rafaela, Diego, Pedro, Cruz, and Wencesla.  Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Matilde was an avid member of Fatima Church in Camden.  She enjoyed trips to the casinos and playing the slot machines.  Matilde loved to get her hair done, go shopping, and was a sharp dresser.  She spent time watching soap operas/novellas and especially liked General Hospital and the Price is Right when Bob Barker was the host.  Most of all she cherished time spent with her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 9-11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Rd, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
