Obituary of Marie E. Chambers
Marie E. Chambers (nee Giambrone) age 86 years of Camden, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2023.
Beloved companion of the late Joseph Marscio for 36 years. Devoted mother of Charles (Gail), Maureen Marziani (Robert), Gary (Ivette), Roxanne Kjono (Kenny), Kenny (Valerie) and Gregory (Lisa). Loving grandmother of Robert (Nicole), Jenifer (Larry), Steven (Courtney), Kenny Jr., Joseph, David, Natalie, Gregory Jr., Samantha, Matthew and Sonny and great grandmother of Landon, Kennedy, Declan, Salvatore, Vanessa, KJ, JR and Davin. Dear sister of Patricia Carr and the late Elaine and Bella. Also survived by 2 nieces, Francine (Peter) and Lynn (Bill) and many cousins and friends.
Marie was employed at Martin Luther King Day Care Center as a cook for 19 years and then at the Camden County Sheriffs Dept as a mail clerk for 9 years until retiring. She volunteered at Cooper Hospital in Camden and was an active longtime parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Camden. Marie put her heart and soul into the church and the city of Camden. She would always give back in any way she could, often sponsoring kids at Christmas time or helping with tuition. Marie loved music, singing and dancing, cooking and arts and crafts. She would make wreaths for every one of her family members graves during the holiday season. Marie also enjoyed trips to the casinos. Most of all she cherished her Italian heritage and the connections she had with the community of Camden and Sacred Heart Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 9:30-10:45 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1739 Ferry Ave, Camden, NJ 08104, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery in Bellmawr. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church at the above address.
