Obituary of Paul R. Dickel
Paul R. Dickel, age 83 of Collingswood, passed away on January 11, 2025 at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees, New Jersey. He was born in Philadelphia on July 20, 1941 and resided in Haddon Heights, NJ until moving to Collingswood in 1967.
Paul graduated from Haddon Heights High School in 1959 and graduated from Temple University where he earned a masters degree in electronic media.. Mr. Dickel worked for the US government for 15 years as a contract administrator for the Defense Logistics Agency. Until his retirement, he also worked for various government agencies, GE, RCA and AT&T. Paul also served his country as a cryptographic specialist with the Army during the Vietnam War era and worked in numerous charitable organizations in New Jersey.
Paul was an active parishioner at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Church of St. John in Collingswood where he served as a lector and also belonged to the St. John's Mens Club, honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Santa Maria Council, American Legion Post 17 in Collingswood, and member of the DAV.
He is the beloved son of the late Elmer and Anna Dickel; devoted husband of Annette (nee DeMarinis); cherished father of Michael and Dean; and dear brother of Nancy Pangburn. He is also survived by his faithful companions, CoCo and Archie
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 10-11 AM at the Parish of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, Church of St. John, 809 Park Avenue in Collingswood, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
